Karnataka, Davangere: In a commendable display of swift action, 112 Hoysala patrol personnel successfully thwarted an extortion attempt on National Highway 48 under Davangere Rural Police Station limits. The incident involved four robbers who had attacked and attempted to extort money from a civilian. The prompt intervention by the patrol team led to the arrest of one accused, while preventing the planned extortion.
Superintendent of Police Smt. Uma Prashant IPS recognized this exemplary service by presenting commendation letters to the responding officers – CHC Malatesh and APC Vinod Kumar – at her office. The officers were praised for their timely response and bravery in preventing the crime, demonstrating the effectiveness of the 112 Hoysala emergency response system in maintaining public safety.
