Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, October 23, 2025: In view of the northeast monsoon, flood prevention and disaster relief operations are being carried out proactively under the supervision of the Tirunelveli District Police.
On Thursday, District Superintendent of Police N. Silambarasan, I.P.S., inspected the disaster relief and prevention equipment at the Tirunelveli District Armed Reserve Headquarters and reviewed the preparedness of the police teams. The SP issued necessary instructions to ensure a swift and coordinated response in case of emergencies.
Specially trained disaster relief police teams have been kept on standby across the district, ready to assist in flood-prone and vulnerable areas. Preventive measures are also being taken to safeguard lives and property, ensuring that the public remains safe and unaffected during the heavy rains.
The District Police have appealed to the public to stay alert, follow safety advisories, and immediately inform the nearest police station or control room in case of any emergency related to rain or flooding.
