Ernakulam Rural: Ernakulam Rural District Superintendent of Police, Dr. Vaibhav Saxena IPS, emphasized the vital role Residence Associations can play in enhancing law and order and aiding crime investigation. Speaking at the district-level meeting of residence association representatives held at the district police headquarters, he stressed the importance of reporting individuals living alone to the police station for special attention. He encouraged the public to share their views on police services and assured strict action against any delinquent officers. Dr. Saxena highlighted the necessity of a unified effort against drug abuse, promising swift investigations upon receiving accurate information, with informant confidentiality guaranteed. The police will focus on raising awareness about cyber fraud and scams in schools, extending this education to resident associations as well. Counseling will be offered to children in need. He also urged Residence Associations to increase the installation of CCTV cameras, which have been instrumental in solving many crimes, such as the recent arrest of thieves in Aluva linked to Ajmer.
Action will be taken on photographic evidence of crimes. Complaints from boxes placed in schools and colleges are being investigated. Proper registration and documentation of guest workers will be verified. Dr. Saxena advised residents to follow updates on the rural police’s social media pages. The event was presided over by DYSP Abdul Rahim, with participation from Perumbavoor ASP Mohit Rawat IPS, DYSPs V. Anil, V.T. Shajan, PM Baiju, and others. The District Police Chief presented a letter of appreciation to Residence Association representative Joseph Roydon D’Cruz for his creative proposal shared during the meeting.
