Raipur: Sukma District is a place affected by the Naxalites. To remove the Naxal movement, the security forces are in the process of identifying their locations and during this process, an encounter broke out between the Security forces and the Naxals on Tuesday morning. In the exchange of fire a female Naxal cadre was killed, police said. In the early morning hour at around 6 am the joint team of the Security forces was at a forest near Dabbakonta village where they were engaged in a counter-insurgency operation. At this time the encounter commenced, Deputy Inspector General (anti-Naxal operations) Mr. Sundarraj P said. This early morning operation was executed by Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA-an elite unit of CRPF), Special Task Force and District Reserve Guard, he said. The Security personnel started to surround a Maoist camp as soon as they located it in the forest near Dabbakonta village which is located around 500 Km from Raipur. The DIG said an encounter ensured between the two sides and the rebels soon escaped into the dense forest. After the encounter was over a search operation was conducted at the spot of the encounter and the Security personal recovered the body of a woman Naxal in uniform and an INSAS rifle, he said. The slain ultra was identified as Ms. Kuram Bhime who is a resident of Gaganpalli, Sukma district. She was the Section Commander of Maoist. She carried a cash reward of Rs.8 lakhs on her head, the DIG added. During the search operation the security personal found bloodstains at the encounter spot which indicated that some more ultras could have been injured or killed in the encounter, he said. The Security personal seized some items of daily use and a huge stock-pile of Naxal-related materials, he said. ]]>
