Shanmugadurai (25), son of Maharajan from Seevalapperi, who was already facing charges of attempted murder and intimidation, continued to engage in activities disturbing public peace. Responding swiftly, Gangaikondan Police Inspector, on the recommendation of Velkani, forwarded a proposal to Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police N. Silambarasan, I.P.S.
Acting on this, District Collector R. Sukumar approved the detention under the Goondas Act, ensuring that the accused was lodged in Palayamkottai Central Jail.
This decisive action by the Tirunelveli Police highlights their strong resolve to curb anti-social activities and safeguard the community.
