Thrissur City, Kerala: In a major anti-narcotics operation, the DANSAF squad, in coordination with the Ollur Police, arrested a 25-year-old youth for possessing and intending to sell banned narcotic substances, including cannabis, hashish oil, and MDMA.
Based on a credible tip-off received by DANSAF Sub-Inspector K.V. Vijith, a search was conducted at the residence of Srikanth (25), a native of Mylappan, Kokkath, Kainur, Ollur. During the search, police seized 490 grams of cannabis, 27.5 grams of hashish oil, and 2 grams of MDMA, all of which were reportedly stored for illegal sale.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused is a habitual offender, already involved in three previous cases registered at the Ollur Police Station. The seized substances were taken into custody, and Srikanth was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
The operation was led by Sub-Inspector K.V. Vijith and Assistant Sub-Inspector Jeevan, along with members of the DANSAF squad and Ollur Police personnel — including Civil Police Officers Vipindas, Sangeeth, Kishal, and Shifana (Narcotics Cell), Sub-Inspector Jees Mathew, and Civil Police Officer Srinath P.
District Police officials stated that strict surveillance and coordinated actions will continue under the War on Drugs campaign to curb the spread of narcotics within the region.
