Thrissur City, Kerala: Personnel of Thrissur Town East Police Station arrested Dileep (26), a native of Mullakkal, Manjapra in Palakkad district, in connection with a motorcycle theft case involving criminal intimidation.
According to police, the incident occurred on May 20, 2026, when a Thrissur native was travelling towards Mannuthi on a motorcycle along with the accused, whom he had reportedly met near Sakthan area. At Thottapadi, the accused allegedly threatened the victim with a knife and stole the motorcycle before fleeing from the spot.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation. With assistance from the Cyber Cell, investigators traced the accused to the Vadakkumcheri area in Palakkad district and subsequently arrested him near Mangalam Bridge.
Police stated that the accused is allegedly involved in around six criminal cases registered across Palakkad, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, and Thrissur districts. The accused was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
