Malkajgiri, Telangana, February 7, 2026: In a strong crackdown on cybercrime, the Cyber Crime Police Station (CCPS), Malkajgiri Commissionerate, successfully detected seven cybercrime cases within a single week (February 1 to 7, 2026) and arrested 11 offenders involved in various online frauds. The investigations revealed the pan-India network of cybercriminals operating across multiple states.
Swift Action against Multiple Cyber Frauds
The arrested accused were involved in different types of cyber-enabled financial frauds, including investment scams, digital arrest fraud, online gaming and betting fraud, and part-time job fraud. Through prompt investigation, technical tracking, and field operations, the Cybercrime Police were able to trace and apprehend offenders from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and other regions.

₹43.21 Lakh Refunded to Victims
In addition to arrests, the Cyber Crime Police, Malkajgiri, facilitated refunds of ₹43,21,017 to victims through orders of the Hon’ble Court, bringing timely relief to cyber fraud victims and reinforcing public confidence in cyber policing.
Major Cases Cracked
- In a Digital Arrest Fraud case targeting a senior citizen, the police arrested two accused involved in mule account operations and account procurement for fraudsters impersonating officials of TRAI, Crime Branch and CBI.
- In a high-value Online Betting Fraud case, three accused including the main organiser/bookie were arrested for cheating victims through illegal online betting platforms and complex money layering.
- Multiple Investment Fraud cases were cracked, with mule account holders apprehended in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra for facilitating crores of rupees worth of cyber frauds.
- In a Part-Time Job Fraud case, two accused were arrested for cheating victims by luring them with fake online task offers and false promises of high returns.

- Never rent or sell bank accounts, as it is illegal
- Verify investment platforms with official regulators
- Avoid clicking suspicious links
- Never trust part-time job offers promising easy money
Victims of cyber fraud are advised to immediately call 1930 or report on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) and approach the nearest Cyber Crime Police Station.
