Duliajan, Assam: Continuing its intensified drive against narcotics in the Dibrugarh District, Duliajan Police successfully seized approximately 1.6 kilograms of suspected ganja during an operation conducted near the Rail Gate area under Duliajan Police Station on Monday.
According to police sources, the contraband was recovered from the possession of Jaan Baruah, son of Late Bhula Baruah and a resident of Indrapuri Gaon. The seizure was made by a team of Duliajan Police as part of ongoing anti-narcotics operations aimed at curbing the illegal drug trade in the region.
The accused was taken into custody, and the seized narcotic substance was confiscated following due legal procedures. Police officials stated that necessary legal action has been initiated against the individual under the relevant provisions of the law.
The operation forms part of the Assam Police’s sustained efforts to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse, with law enforcement agencies continuing to intensify surveillance and enforcement measures across the district.
