Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: As part of the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” (Drug-Free India Campaign) and in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, the Srikakulam District Police organized a series of anti-drug awareness programmes across the district to encourage a drug-free society.
In the Tekkali Subdivision, an anti-drug awareness rally was conducted through the town under the leadership of DSP D. Lakshmana Rao. Following the rally, participants took a pledge to stay away from drugs and actively support efforts to eliminate substance abuse from society.
Similarly, in the Kasibugga Subdivision, a large-scale awareness rally was organized to educate the public about the harmful effects of narcotic substances. The programme concluded with an anti-drug pledge administered at Indira Chowk, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug abuse.
The awareness initiatives witnessed enthusiastic participation from police officers, staff, students, local youth, and members of the public. Through rallies, public interaction, and pledge-taking ceremonies, the programmes highlighted the importance of community participation in preventing drug abuse and protecting future generations.
The initiative reflects the Srikakulam District Police’s continued commitment to promoting awareness, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and strengthening public cooperation in the nationwide fight against drugs. By bringing together law enforcement, educational institutions, and the community, the campaign reinforces the collective vision of building a safer, healthier, and drug-free society.
