Thrissur Rural: In the Thrissur Rural region, Santhosh (42 years old), also known as Kalki and hailing from Peachey, has been apprehended by the Irinjalakuda police for his involvement in numerous theft cases. The arrest follows a daylight robbery on November 29th at the residence of Mohanan in Velayanadu. Upon returning home that night, Mohanan discovered the theft after locking the house in the morning and leaving with his family. Rural District Police Chief Navneet Sharma IPS was promptly informed, leading to the formation of a team headed by Inspector Anishkarim, with members including TK Shaiju, MS Shajan SI, NK Anilkumar, Jayakrishnan P, ASIs Shine TR, Satheesan, and CPO Suraj V. Dev, Shafir Babu, MR Ranjith, Mithun Krishna, ES Jeevan, Vipin Vellambarambil, KS. Umesh, Rahul Ampadan, and Soni Xavier.
The accused, P.V. Santosh, was apprehended during the investigation conducted by the team, which included Vikas Enir. Despite the thief’s efforts to leave no evidence, the investigative team successfully captured him. The police, having examined the method and circumstances of the theft, confirmed that Santosh was a habitual criminal. With a history of fraud cases in stations such as Ollur, Viyyur, Pudukkad, Varantharapilly, Mannutthi, and Iringalakuda, Santosh, an ex-convict, was thoroughly investigated to understand the modus operandi. His movements were closely monitored, leading to his arrest with substantial evidence. Following his arrest, he was presented in court and remanded.
