Andhra Pradesh: DGP Mr. K.V Rajendranath Reddy IPS, on 28.12.2023 conducted a Press Conference & disclosed crime stats for 2023.Pointed up that, with support of GoA Police & innovative trends in Policing, better policing with redoubled enthusiasm will be provided in 2024.

Due to the effective work of police department crimes have reduced significantly.
Compared to the previous 2 years (2021,2022), there has been a significant change in the control of all types of crimes in 2023 & the police is successful in controlling the crimes at a higher level compared to the cases registered in the past.
The crime has decreased by 8.13% due to the effective focus on visible policing, crackdown on ganja, iron clad vigilance on illicit liquor, Surveillance on anti-social forces, undertaking awareness programs, implementation of PD Act & convictions. In 2021-205747 cases, 2022-175612 cases & in 2023-161334 cases were registered. Identification & rectification of black spots, increased police vigilance & enforcement during the times of accidents, identifying the roads where accidents are taking place & taking appropriate measures, continuous monitoring by SPs have resulted in a significant reduction in road accidents. The percentage of total road accidents has decreased by -7.83%.
Serious crimes against women, children & offences related to family violence have reduced due to strong implementation of visible policing, Disha programs, geo-mapping of crime-affected areas & continuous supervision of Women Police etc.
Crimes against SC/STs have come down through village visits, identification & surveillance of crime prone areas, district review meetings & strict action against criminals.
For the control of cybercrimes, special cyber cells have been set up in all the districts across the state. Cyber cell & social monitoring cell have been set up in the police headquarters in Mangalagiri & special training has been given to the staff on key issues for the control of cybercrimes under the supervision of a senior officer & steps are taken to control cybercrime.
This year, a total of 492142 cases (77693-compoundable IPC cases, 12751-SLL & Excise cases, 401748- non IPC & petty cases) related to the police department were resolved in large scale in the LokAdalat held in four phases across the State.
