Thrissur: In Thrissur, a cutting-edge camera surveillance and lighting system has been installed at the KSRTC stand and Sakthan Tampuran bus stand through the local development fund by T.N. Pratapan M.P. A total of 31 cameras and 22 high-power lights have been set up at the KSRTC stand, while the Sakthan Tampuran Nagar bus stand has been equipped with 33 cameras and 26 high-power lights. These state-of-the-art cameras, powered by artificial intelligence, can capture high-quality images day and night. The captured images and videos will be transmitted to the police control room via advanced optical fiber network cables. Live surveillance will also be conducted at the special police aid post at the KSRTC stand. The comprehensive camera network spans various locations in Thrissur city and remote areas like Swaraj Round, Outer Ring Road, Poonkunnam, Shakthan Bus Stand, High Road, Palace Road, Vadakke Bus Stand, Ramanilayam Precinct, Puthanpally Gold Market, Sakthanthampuran Market, Mannutthi, and Pavaratti, totaling more than 400 cameras. The inauguration and CCTV switch-on ceremony were conducted by T.N. Pratapan M.P. at the Thrissur KSRTC stand, with Mayor M.K. Varghese presiding over the event. Participants included Deputy Mayor M.L. Rossi, Corporation Leader of Opposition Rajan Pallan, Councilors Vinod Pollanchery, Lizzie Anto, Lally James, E.V. Sunilraj, and KSRTC Asst. Transport Officer Sunil. City Police Commissioner Ankit Ashokan extended a welcome, and Asst. Commissioner K.K. Sajeev expressed gratitude. The CCTV installation contractors, Thade Eye Solutions, and the optical fiber network provider, Keralavision, were recognized with awards.
