Pathanamthitta: A resident of Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram, identified as Satish Japakumar, has been apprehended by the Aranmula police in Pathanamthitta for duping a Kojancherry resident out of approximately Rs. 23 lakh over four years. Satish employed various deceptive tactics, including creating a Facebook profile under the name Vandana Krishna and establishing a WhatsApp relationship using the alias of former SP Vasudevan Nair, claiming to be Vandana’s father. The accused, who posed as a chartered accountant in the Thaikudam area of Ernakulam, managed to convince the victim to invest money by promising to upgrade the victim’s private college in Pathanamthitta as a study center affiliated with Madras University. The Aranmula Police Station, led by Inspector CK Manoj, conducted a thorough investigation under the guidance of Pathanamthitta DY SPS Nandakumar, acting on instructions from Pathanamthitta District Police Chief V Ajith. The team of investigators included SIs Aloysius, Nujum, Vinod Kumar, SCPO Salim, Nasser Ismail, Tajuddin, Sunajan, Rajagopal, Jitin, and Gabriel.
