Chennai: During the curfew announced by the Tamil Nadu government yesterday (17.07.2021) 142 cases were registered and 237 vehicles were confiscated for violating the corona curfew rules.
Cases have been registered against 784 persons who did not wear masks and 07 persons who did not observe social space in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
Following the issuance of a full curfew order by the Government of Tamil Nadu from 10.05.2021, the Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that the curfew with relaxations will be in effect from 21.06.2021 morning to 31.07.2021 morning. In this regard, on the orders of the Chennai Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Sankar Jaiswal, IGP, various arrangements have been made to intensify the entire curfew with proper relaxation.
Among them, 13 border vehicle check posts in 12 police district boundaries in Chennai metropolitan area and vehicle inspection at all police station boundaries.
Appropriate action is being taken against the public and motorists violating the Corona Prevention Guidelines of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Following this, during the vehicle inspection and patrol monitoring conducted by the Chennai Metropolitan Police yesterday (17.07.2021), 142 cases were registered in connection with the violation of the corona curfew in the Chennai metropolis.
A total of 237 vehicles, including 229 two-wheelers and 08 autos, were seized in connection with the violation.
In addition, 784 cases of non-wearing of face masks and 07 cases of non-observance of social space were registered.
The Chennai Metropolitan Police is requesting the public to follow the curfew guidelines of the Tamil Nadu government to prevent corona infection.
