<![CDATA[The sight of an 80-year-old destitute woman curled up on a Kukatpally street for a continuous three days troubled a police home guard so much that he rushed to her aid on Sunday morning, with tea and some food. Mr.B. Gopal (35), who works at the Kukatpally Traffic Police Station, had first noticed the woman by the roadside near Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) on Friday. While discharging duties during the bandobast for Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy’s visit on Sunday, Mr. Gopal spotted the woman under a tree at the same location and reached out to her. He told that he offered her a cup of tea and then bought lunch for her. But she was unable to even eat with her own hands, so he fed her. He told that the woman identified herself as Buchamma, a native of Tellapur, adding that she has nine children, none of whom looked after her. The woman was later shifted to Anand Ashram, Cherlapally. When the story of Mr. Gopal’s Good Samaritan act reached the ears of Mr.VC Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police Cyberabad, he appreciated the home guard’s noble effort. Another home guard of the same police station, Jahangir Patel helped a four-year-old reunite with her parents. On Sunday afternoon, he noticed the girl near JNTU signal and asked for details of her parents. The girl said her father works as a security guard. Acting on the clue, Mr. Patel started a search and later, handed over the girl to her father.]]>
