Pudukottai: Shanmugam age (55) from Gandhi Nagar, Pudukottai district. He was working as Special Inspector of Alangudi Traffic Police. He was employed in the flying squad set up for the current parliamentary elections and was involved in checking vehicles in Thirumayam area for the past 15 days. Shanmugam came to Tirumayam bus station at 10.30 pm after finishing work the day before yesterday. Then, while boarding the bus, he suddenly felt chest pain and fell down. Shocked by this, the neighbors picked him up and took him to Thirumayam Government Hospital. There he died miserably without treatment. Thirumayam police are investigating the matter. Shanmugam, deceased, is survived by his wife and two daughters.
