Annamayya: On December 12, 2023, DGP Mr. K.V. Rajendranath Reddy IPS officially opened the DSP office and Traffic Police Station in Rayachoti, Annamayya District. The establishment of the Rayachoti Police Sub-Division in 2020 aimed to uphold law and order in the region. On December 24, 2019, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy allocated 2 crore for the establishment of the Traffic Police Station and 1.5 crore for the SDPO office in Rayachoti.
During the inauguration, the DGP addressed the press, highlighting that the Rayachoti Sub-Division encompasses 14 police stations. The construction of the Traffic Police Station and SDPO office, including residence facilities, was made possible through the collaboration of MLA Mr. Srikanth Reddy. Starting today, the SDPO Office will operate from its new premises.
Given the challenges of narrow lanes and heavy traffic in Rayachoti Town, the Traffic Police Station, equipped with advanced facilities, was built on a 1.5-acre area to regulate traffic effectively. The upgraded traffic police station now includes an inspector-level officer, and the staff strength has been increased from 30 to 42.
Initiatives have been taken to promote SIs to CIs, and the soon-to-be-promoted CIs will be assigned to 100 upgraded Police Stations. The final results of the SI Recruitment will be released in the near future.
