Anakapally: Home Guards is a voluntary organization and is working as an affiliated organization to the Police Department and is getting the respect of everyone and their services are appreciated by the District SP Mr.K.V.Muralikrishna IPS.
On the occasion of the 61st Anniversary of Home Guards, the District SP came as the chief guest and received the salute of the Home Guards at the program organized at the Convention Hall, Anakapally town, Pentakota.
Speaking on the occasion, the District SP said that in the year 1962, for the first time in the state, home guards were established as a voluntary system of home guards to assist the police in times of internal security, natural calamities and other emergencies.
He said that every year on December 6th, ‘Home Guard Rising Day’ is being held as a custom to remember the importance of Home Guards and the services they have rendered to the Police Department.
He appreciated that the Home Guards are performing an important role in the police department, working equally with the constable in the duties of traffic, law and order, crime etc.

He said that appropriate action has been taken to provide all the benefits to the families of the Home Guard who died due to accidents and illness in the line of duty.
