Sribhumi, Assam: In a significant breakthrough against cross-border narcotics trafficking, a joint operation conducted by Sribhumi Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) led to the seizure of 10,000 suspected Yaba tablets from the international border area.
According to official sources, the operation was carried out in the border fencing area under Sribhumi district based on specific intelligence inputs. During the search, security personnel recovered an abandoned bag lying near the border fence. Upon inspection, the bag was found to contain 10,000 suspected Yaba tablets.
The seized contraband has been taken into custody for further examination, and legal procedures have been initiated. Authorities suspect that the narcotics were intended to be smuggled across the border, though the exact source and destination of the consignment are yet to be determined.
Police officials stated that an investigation is underway to identify those involved in the trafficking network. Security agencies have intensified surveillance and anti-narcotics operations along the border to curb the movement of illegal drugs.
