Thiruvananthapuram City: Nisha, also known as Kalyani, a valued member of the Thiruvananthapuram City K9 Squad in the Kerala Police, has sadly passed away. Having joined the force in 2015, this eight-year-and-eight-month-old canine played a pivotal role in solving numerous cases. Kalyani, categorized as a Sniper/Explosive detection dog, made history as the first among 19 dogs to successfully complete training in that year. Over the course of her service, Kalyani actively participated in four duty meets for the Kerala Police, excelling in each one. Additionally, she showcased her skills in various mock drills conducted by government institutions such as ISRO and VSSC, earning numerous accolades. Notably, Kalyani was honored with the State Police Chief’s Excellence Award in 2021.
