Guna: A 24-year-old man has been taken into custody in Guna District of Madhya Pradesh, for allegedly beating, raping, and torturing a woman by applying chili powder to her wounds and placing glue in her mouth, according to a police officer on Thursday.
Mr. Dileep Rajoriya, the police officer, stated that the accused, Ayan Pathan, was attempting to coerce the 23-year-old woman into marrying him. Rajoriya mentioned the woman’s mother claimed Pathan also had an interest in their home.
Rajoriya described how the accused allegedly beat the woman, who was hospitalized and reported to be in stable condition, using a belt and a pipe after her mother informed Pathan that she had sold the house. “He applied chili to her wounds and glued her lips and mouth to prevent her from screaming,” said Rajoriya. He added that the woman’s mother was in Shivpuri when Pathan attacked her.
The woman informed police that the accused had kept her captive for a month and repeatedly raped her. On Tuesday, she managed to escape, but Pathan allegedly pursued her and continued the abuse.
Police reported that Pathan was arrested on Wednesday night while attempting to illegally supply liquor. The accused has been charged under Sections 376 (rape), 294 (obscene language), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as the Excise Act. Police mentioned they might impose additional charges pending investigation.
