Vythiri: In Vythiri, the death of Aruli (40), a native of Ariyalur, Tamil Nadu, was determined to be a murder. Rameshi (43), also from Ariyur Muth Serva Matham, Tamil Nadu, was apprehended by the Vythiri police in connection with the incident. Initially registered as an unnatural death, further investigation revealed it to be a case of murder. Arul, the deceased, was a laborer who had come from Tamil Nadu to work on the Jalanidhi project, specifically digging ditches on the road.
On the evening of October 30, 2023, at their rented residence in Vythiri, Poshuthana, 6th Mile, Arul, under the influence of alcohol, tossed stale food into others’ bowls. This act led to his death due to internal bleeding. The initial inquiry was carried out by West Floor Inspector R Biju, and the subsequent apprehension of the accused was led by Vaithiri sub-inspector K. M Santoshmon, along with A.S.I N K Mani, Senior Civil Police Officers Shalu Francis, Sabit, Devjit, Anas, and Civil Police Officers Abdul Nasr, Pramod, and Ashlyn Thomas.
