RAJKOT: Police registered a case against a man who allegedly raped a 19-year-old woman for several times on the pretext of marrying her. The accused is identified as Viviek Makwana. According to police, Makwana had allegedly married the victim in a hotel room near Madhapar Chowkdy on Jamnagar Road by putting vermilion on her head and a mangalsutra on her neck before he did commit the crime. Thereafter, he raped her several times in the past six months on several occasions in different hotels of Rajkot and Chotila of Surendranagar district. Besides, he allegedly clicked nude photographs of the victim. The survivor asked the accused to marry her in the presence of the families openly. But to her surprise, Makwana started to distance her. When the survivor met Mr. Prabhat, the father of Makwana, he said that he would not get her married to his son as she was a Dalit. Then on her nude photographs had been found being uploaded on WhatsApp which went viral on social media. Following this, the survivor lodged a complaint with the police stating that she had been raped for several times on the pretext of Marriage.]]>
