Srikakulam: On Monday, District SP Mr. KV Maheshwar Reddy IPS, along with police officers, visited the Lord Vinayaka idols on both sides of the Ponnada Bridge along the Collector Office Road in Srikakulam and reviewed the security arrangements. Due to the recent heavy rains over the past two days, the water level in the Nagavali River has risen. As a result, the authorities have been instructed to implement precautionary measures at the immersion points on both sides of the Ponnada Bridge, as well as at the Seven Roads – Gujaratipet Bridge and the Day and Night Bridge. On this occasion, the District SP emphasized that lighting, cranes, swimmers, lifeboats, ambulances, barricades, and the necessary personnel should be prepared in advance at each immersion site in coordination with other departments.
