Viyyur Police Nab Attackers

Kerala, Thrissur City: In a swift and commendable operation, the Viyyur police arrested two individuals accused in a brutal attempted murder case that occurred in Padukad on April 6, 2025.

The accused, Chiyyarathuveetil Amal (19) and Robin (29) of Palliparampil, Patukkad, were taken into custody for allegedly breaking into a residence in Ambadathuchiri, Padukad, and severely attacking two victims, Shiju and Rajeev, with weapons and physical assault.

Upon receiving the information, the Viyyur police acted swiftly and apprehended the suspects in a daring search operation. Their immediate response and efficient coordination led to the successful arrest of both accused.

Investigations revealed that Amal is a repeat offender with five cases pending across the West, East, and Viyyur police stations, while Robin has two cases pending at Viyyur station. Following their arrest, both were produced in court and remanded to judicial custody.

The operation was led by Viyyur Inspector K.P. Mithun and supported by a dedicated team including Sub-Inspector Biju C. Mathew, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Preman and Sajeev, Senior Civil Police Officer Kannan, and Civil Police Officers Manek, Subhash, and Shafi.

The public and local authorities have lauded the Viyyur police for their prompt action and commitment to upholding law and order.
