Hyderabad City, Telangana: In a decisive operation, the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner’s Task Force along with Lallaguda Police Station officials raided a godown at Lalapet and arrested four persons for manufacturing adulterated ginger-garlic paste in unhygienic conditions.
Acting on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force conducted the raid at Jhansi Ginger and Garlic Paste Godown located near Jana Priya Apartments in Lalapet. During the operation, the police apprehended four individuals involved in the illegal activity.
The accused were identified as Neela Venkateswaralu (owner), K. Vinod (supervisor), T. Sathish (worker), and M. Shivani (worker).
Police investigation revealed that the accused were preparing ginger and garlic paste in unsanitary conditions by mixing acetic acid and other substances. The paste was stored for several days in plastic tubs and later packed into plastic containers with fake labels and manipulated date stamps before being supplied to local kirana stores to earn illegal profits.
During the raid, the Task Force seized 1,915 kg of adulterated ginger-garlic paste, raw materials, 30 kg of acetic acid, packing materials, fake labels, date stamps, weighing and packing machines, and a grinding and mixing machine.
A case has been registered under Crime No. 84/2026 under Sections 318(4), 275, 223 r/w 3(5) of BNS at Lallaguda Police Station, and further investigation is in progress.
The successful raid highlights the proactive efforts of the Hyderabad police in safeguarding public health and cracking down on food adulteration.
