Gurugram: The Gurugram Police reported on Monday that they have arrested nine cyber fraudsters accused of defrauding individuals across the nation of nearly Rs. 5 crore. Among the arrested individuals are Pawan Kumar, Avinash Giri, Bijender Singh, Rishu Kumar, Ritesh, Rahul Jain, Rohit, Gaurav, and Ohan Pahwa, against whom 1,577 complaints have been filed. According to DCP Siddhant Jain, during interrogation, the accused disclosed that they perpetrated fraud by promising loans through online apps. They attracted victims through social media advertisements and messages, collecting money from them under various pretenses. The seized items from the accused include eight mobile phones, 13 SIM cards, and six CPUs. Analysis of the SIM cards revealed that the fraudsters had swindled approximately Rs. 4.92 crore. The police have registered 64 cases against them, three of which are in Haryana.
