Gurugram: Police reported that a 27-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband in Manesar after being attacked with a sharp object. The husband, accused of the crime, was apprehended on Saturday evening, and authorities have retrieved the knife used in the incident. The tragic event unfolded on Friday night in Khoh village, where the husband, inebriated upon his return home, engaged in a heated argument with his wife, fueled by suspicions about her character. The couple’s two children were fortunately not present during the altercation. Subsequent to the dispute, the husband purportedly assaulted his wife with a sharp object, resulting in her demise. The victim’s cousin, residing as a tenant in the adjacent house, lodged a complaint at the IMT Manesar police station.
According to the cousin, who hailed from Prayagraj, the accused had a history of verbally and physically abusing the victim. The discovery of the victim’s body, covered in blood and lying unclothed on a mattress, prompted the cousin to alert authorities after unsuccessful attempts to contact her. Upon arrival, the police promptly attended to the situation, arranging for the victim’s post-mortem examination. SHO Yogesh Kumar confirmed that an FIR has been filed against the husband under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
