Kolar: KGF Police has arrested a person who stole bicycles on a large scale after thirty eight years.
On the instructions of KGF Superintendent of Police KM Shantaraju, the fingerprint of the person was sent to the lab to confirm the identity of the accused. After being confirmed by the experts, he was arrested and produced before the judge and remanded in judicial custody.
Speaking to The Media, Shantraju said that according to police records, the accused has been identified as Pasha John, a resident of Andersonpet. He is now about 62 years old and has been arrested on the complaint of John, a resident of ST Block. The complaint stated that a bicycle was stolen in Andersonpet and the value of the bicycle was two hundred and fifty rupees. Based on the complaint, the Andersonpet police registered a case.
Later during the investigation, it was discovered that Pasha John was involved in the crime. After that a case was registered against him under theft case. A charge sheet was filed before the court on this allegation. But he did not appear in the court that day. Thus, the judge issued a non-bailable warrant order in 1985. Since then Pasha John has been missing.
In the last meeting, Shantraju directed the police officers to execute the warrant. He also directed to trace the absconding person in long pending cases (LPR). Accordingly, Pasha John was arrested. His thumb impression has been sent to a fingerprint expert to confirm his identity. After his confirmation, he was arrested and produced in court.
