Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: A. Thawlath Isra, a third-grade student from Tirunelveli, has set a new world record by reciting the names of the 99 Tamil flowers mentioned in the Sangam-era literary work Kurinjippattu from memory—flawlessly and at high speed—in just 31 seconds. Her feat has earned her a place in the United States of America Book of World Records. Thawlath Isra has previously demonstrated her talent across various fields through her extraordinary memory and sharp intellect. Notably, beyond excelling in solving the Rubik’s Cube at high speed and performing well in mathematics and science, she has also achieved significant success in traditional Tamil martial arts such as archery and Silambam. To date, she has secured eight world records and fifteen honorary awards, establishing herself as a multi-talented individual. In recognition of her exceptional talent, her passion for the Tamil language, and her global achievement, Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police Dr. V. Prasanna Kumar, IPS, invited the student to meet him. He reviewed her world record certificate, commended her accomplishments, and wished her continued excellence in academics and skill-based fields, urging her to bring further pride to the district and Tamil Nadu.
