Bengaluru City: During today’s weekly press briefing, CP Bangalore provided an update on several cases resolved by the city police. Highlights include a raid by the Anti-Narcotics Wing of CCB on a shop engaged in the illegal sale of E-Cigarettes, leading to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of 1,180 E-Cigarettes valued at Rs.30 lakhs. The suspects face charges under the Prohibition of E-Cigarettes Act-2019.
In Bellandur, police arrested a person connected to multiple mobile phone thefts, recovering 44 phones worth Rs.9,00,000. The accused has been charged under the K.P Act and IT Act of 2012.
Peenya Police apprehended an individual linked to mobile phone snatching, recovering 23 phones valued at Rs.5,00,000 and a two-wheeler. A second suspect is still being sought.
Additionally, Peenya Police Station has arrested a person in relation to a series of two-wheeler thefts, recovering 20 stolen two-wheelers worth Rs.5,00,000 from 15 different cases. The investigation is ongoing.
In Vidyaranyapura, police arrested two individuals involved in stealing two-wheelers at night. The suspects were found tampering with engine and chassis numbers, creating fake vehicle documents, and selling the bikes online. The arrest led to the recovery of 25 two-wheelers, 6 mobile phones, 2 laptops, and a color printer, totaling Rs.26,00,000.
Finally, Indiranagar Police Station arrested three interstate culprits with lethal weapons, recovering 7 stolen laptops worth Rs.5.85 lakhs. The suspects were discovered breaking car windows to steal laptops left inside.
