Hyderabad, Telangana: In a significant step towards strengthening cybercrime prevention and public safety, DGP C. V. Anand, IPS, participated in the 52nd PRAGATI meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the high-level review meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for more stringent measures to combat cybercrimes, particularly the growing threat of digital arrest frauds, which target unsuspecting citizens through fake calls, impersonation, and online deception.

The Telangana Police, widely recognized for their proactive initiatives and technological innovations in tackling cybercrime, reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cyber security and protecting citizens from online fraud. Building upon their achievements in cybercrime prevention and investigation, the force will continue to strengthen enforcement, awareness campaigns, and rapid response mechanisms.
The police have urged the public to remain vigilant against suspicious calls claiming involvement in criminal cases, digital arrests, or demands for money transfers. Citizens are advised not to panic, share personal information, or transfer funds based on such calls.
As part of ongoing public awareness efforts, Telangana Police have appealed to citizens to immediately report any suspected cyber fraud or digital arrest scam by dialing the national cybercrime helpline 1930. Prompt reporting can help authorities take swift action, prevent financial losses, and bring cybercriminals to justice.
The participation of senior police leadership in national-level governance and monitoring platforms reflects the continued commitment of law enforcement agencies to leveraging technology, improving cyber resilience, and ensuring the safety and security of the public in the digital age.
